Aims and Scope
The Bioactive Compounds in Health and Disease (BCHD) journal is dedicated to biomedical research centered around food bioactive compounds. It aims to understand the role of food bioactive compounds in managing symptoms of and reducing the risk of chronic or viral diseases. The journal addresses the impacts of food bioactive compounds on specific molecular pathways and biomarkers.
The scope of this journal is the identification and location of food bioactive compounds such as prebiotics, probiotics, sterols, minerals, vitamins, dietary fiber, flavonoids, flavonols, lipids, fatty acids, polyphenols, phytochemicals, and more. It also focuses on the mechanisms through which food bioactive compounds regulate metabolic processes and interact with biomarkers, particularly at the subcellular, cellular, tissue, and whole-body levels. The Bioactive Compounds in Health and Disease journal investigates the role of food bioactive compounds in reducing the risk of chronic or viral diseases as well as their overall implications on human health.
